My name is Michele Maysonave, and I was lucky enough to grow up in New Orleans, where art, food, and music were always a huge part of my life. I have a degree in Graphic Design and worked in printed and woven textile design in Italy, France, and New York City, before making my home in Austin, Texas.
I love to paint and draw, belong to a local sketch group, and feel happiest when I making art for others.
I learned the art of calligraphy for my own wedding in 1996, and applied these new-found talents to my wedding invitations and envelopes, as well as to my rehearsal dinner invitations, programs, favors, welcome notes, escort cards, place cards, itineraries, guest booklets, and keep-sake vows…basically, anything I could think of.
The response of my guests was overwhelming. I began giving my calligraphy services as a gift to friends who were getting married, and the demand grew until I finally turned it into a business.
I’m excited about how my calligraphy business has grown and evolved to include heartfelt letters of thanks, carefully researched family trees, beautiful love poems, prayers and lyrics, personal murals, letters from Santa Claus, and dedicated footballs (yes, that’s right!), as well as to be working with engaged couples on wedding stationary and vows. I love being a part of this lovely time in people’s lives and I do everything I can to add to the experience.
The only limit is our imagination!
I’d like very much to collaborate with you on your project.
